My goal was to buy a Mac that was able to play all the games of the current generation (in 2010). I owned an Acer TravelMate 4011, the first was only good for surfing, Microsoft Office stuff and watch movies at low resolution. It 'was ok at first, but gradually its limits came to me. I decided to go with a mac because I've always been a Mac fan. I just bought the Acer for Windows and universities and groped the boy that was a nightmare. My UPS boot took me five minutes … Five. More. Minutes … and no, I'm not exaggerating. Performance wise, it seemed that there was mud in my computer. I would often re-install windows at least twice per year.

Unbelivable that Macs do not support AVCHD or Blu-Ray nativelly. People who bought an HD camcorder in the last three years will be frustrated trying to use mac video edit there. Apple's solution is to use one there own codec, which produces a video or very bad qualty standard definition, or create large files to 5 times the original size. How ironic beautiful 1080p screen, but you can look at BluRay disc, but you need to buy high-definition movies from Apple Store, or spend hundreds more on the software and drive 'a disgrace. Even worse, deliberately mutilated the DVD drive, using a function called Riplock which slows the DVD link, if you want to backup your DVDs. I gues you return to the window, until Apple resolves these issues

I bought this after agonizing over weather or not the 15 "or i5 i7. I could not decide. Eventually I ended up going with this MBP for the following reasons:

* The i7 is not worth the additional price-performance as
* I wanted true HD resolution
* 17 "is not as massive as some do that. I carry it with a Lenovo T400 on airports in the week, no problem
* The MBP has 512 video RAM, this is awesome
* I wanted to somehow matte, glossy, but after using it is not the nightmare some do as
