I’ve been application this now for 2 weeks. I adulation this little apparatus - body superior is actual acceptable because the amount and because that this isn’t a netbook, application it you absolutely feel you’re application a “real” notebook.
Seriously way too abundant Acer bloatware - took some time to annul it. No included antivirus cable and you can’t uninstall the McAfee firewall - alone attenuate the notifications. I’ve installed Comodo and will install NAV if the 30 day balloon on McAfee runs out and I can assuredly get rid of it.
The keyboard feel is acceptable - the keys don’t wobble if you blow your fingers on them, pet peeve. They despress with a acceptable yet bashful click. My alone affair with the keyboard is I accumulate missing the Backspace (hitting “=” instead) and the Left CTRL (hitting “Fn”). It’s weird, I’ve abstinent the ambit amid the bumps on the F and J keys and Backspace and Left CTRL and compared it with a Dell XPS 16 and they are about identical but I still accumulate missing them. My home wireless router is Linksys E3000 and I accept no problems with any added wireless accessory in the abode (2 laptops, DVD player, PS3, printer, VOIP phone, several corpuscle phones and a active PC). The Acer just can’t advance a affiliation unless I am 10 anxiety abroad from the router. My bedchamber is about 40 anxiety abroad and I get 4 to 5 confined but unless I’m next to it, it keeps bottomward the affiliation and windows will not reconnect. It drops the moment it connects like it’s accepting booted out and I accept to uninstall the arrangement adapter and reinstall it in accessory administrator - disabling and enabling doesn’t work. I even adapted the firmware on the router. I accept never had a botheration with this router ever.
Also approved afterlight the drivers, Acer website lists a new disciplinarian but if uncompressed it is absolutely the aforementioned disciplinarian as is installed - installed it anyway.
I Alleged Acer abutment and they said that they weren’t able to handle all the complexities themselves (weird!) and they got a third affair to alarm me to accommodate support. If they alleged they said it was a software affair and that Acer alone provides abutment for accouterments but I can acquirement abutment time for software support. So both Acer and the third affair (ironically alleged Pay) will not accord with it after added $$.
I actively advised abiding the assemblage but use it about alone alfresco the abode (so light!!) area there are no wifi issues. I’m putting it down to awe-inspiring arrest in the bedroom. I accept no problems at cafes and the library BUT my added accessories don’t accept issues in the exact aforementioned locations so I don’t apperceive what’s traveling on.
